Dust off your tiara and grab your favourite frock – the Disney Princess Film Festival is on at Birch Carroll & Coyle and Event Cinemas from 15 Februay to 16 March.

For your chance to win a family pass to the closing film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, enter our competition and wish upon a star! And read on for our favourite Disney princesses and what we love most about them…

1. Belle from Beauty and the Beast

With her nose always stuck in a book, Belle dreamed of adventure in the great-wide-somewhere. After selflessly saving her father’s life and learning to love a beast, Belle’s bravery saves an entire kingdom from an evil enchantment.

2. Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

Once upon a dream there was a princess named Aurora who was awoken from a cursed sleep by her true love Prince Phillip. Aurora is known for her gentleness and quiet strength, proving that bravery comes in all forms.

3. Merida from Brave

The fiery Merida is not your typical Disney princess – a fierce warrior with undying family loyalty, she is tasked with bringing peace to the warring clans and winning the right to live a life of her choosing.

4. Ariel from The Little Mermaid

She sung about wanting to be part of the human world and even surrendered her beautiful voice to Ursula the Sea Witch in exchange for the chance to be with her true love. Ariel’s splash of independence and adventurous nature made her a princess to remember.

5. Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

With a gentle and generous spirit, Snow White really is the fairest of them all and in 1937 was the first Disney princess to find her way into our hearts and meet her prince!

6. Jasmine from Aladdin

Feisty and independent, Jasmine won’t be lied to or bossed around by anyone; not her father the Sultan, and certainly not the evil sorcerer Jafar. Even when a charming young prince promises to fulfill her dreams of travelling the world she won’t have the wool pulled over her eyes, teaching us that sticking up for yourself is always cool.

7. Cinderella from Cinderella

Poor, long-suffering Cindy is always going out of her way to help others out. Her eternal optimism and generosity shows us that if we keep a positive outlook on life (and aren’t afraid to take a risk every now and then!) we can have our happily ever after.

8. Mulan from Mulan

Fighting for her family, her country and her independence, Mulan shows us how powerful self-belief can be and that sometimes actions speak louder than words.

9. Pocahontas from Pocahontas

Pocahontas follows her heart and discovers that standing up for what you believe in can make all the difference in the world, so speak up and don’t be afraid to stand against injustice.

10. Elsa from Frozen

Elsa shied away from her talents and abilities, scared of showing her magic to the world; but self-confidence and talent is never something to be ashamed of! Elsa teaches us to accept support when we need it and to never be afraid of being ourselves.

Who’s your favourite Disney princess or character and why? Let us know and we’ll add them to our list!
