The Brisbane Airport precinct will soon be home to two new hotels, after the announcement of a $150 million development.

The project includes the construction of a five star Pullman hotel and a 3.5 star Ibis hotel, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference and Meeting Centre.

In the last 12 months the Brisbane Airport has seen 21.8 million passengers arrive and depart and this number is predicted to hit 38 million over the next 20 years. The addition of two new hotels to the Airport precinct will allow more passengers the option to conduct business and to stay and rest between flights.

Brisbane Airport Corporation CEO and Managing Director, Julieanne Alroe says the construction of the hotel and conference centre aims to complement the CBD and further enhance Brisbane’s reputation.

“Located at the Brisbane Domestic Terminal Precinct, this hotel and conference centre development will truly be a world class facility attracting events and visitors,” Ms Alroe said. “The new Brisbane Airport Conference & Meeting Centre will particularly be a great asset for the airport to cater for a range of corporate and business needs.”

The development will be overseen by the Flynn Property Group and Scott Flynn Properties and is expected to create 1000 jobs during construction.

Construction is set to start in early 2015 with a proposed opening in November 2016.
