Looking for a place to take your kids? Here are bmag’s favourite parks in Bulimba!

Riverside Park

As the name suggests, this park sits just back from the Brisbane River. It’s located close to the ferry terminal making it easily accessible for families from other suburbs and kids can sit watch boats go by.

The park itself is subtly split into two sections for younger kids and older kids. There are paths around the park that are perfect for cycling, scooters and rollerblading.

There are BBQ facilities and tables if you feel like a family picnic.

Dogs are also welcome! There is a small off-leash dog park located just near the playground.

You are also able to fish off the end of the Riverside jetty!

Bulimba Memorial Park

This park is great for children’s imaginations! It offers a cafe-style set up so kids can serve their friends or parents some pretend coffee!

The park also has interactive elements incorporated into it, including musical instruments.

Both big and little kids will enjoy themselves with an enticing climbing fort for the older kids.

Large shade sails keep kids protected from the sun. There is also a large grassed area that is perfect for kicking a soccer ball around.

Bulimba Memorial Park is opposite the Oxford Street shops- great for parents who want to grab a real coffee!

Vic Lucas Park

This park is known affectionately as the ‘Pirate Park’. It is located along the river so kids can pretend they are pirates whilst watching boats sail past.

There a picnic areas with a BBQ and sheltered tables available.

Vic Lucas Park offers a basketball half-court along with lots of paths for family bike rides!

Hawthorne Park

Also known as ‘Livvi’s Place’, Hawthorne Park was developed and built in partnership with the Touched by Olivia Foundation.

It is a park designed for use by all children, regardless of any disability. There is a Braille board, a lie-down swing and a wheelchair friendly swaying boat.

There are also disabled car spaces located right near the park.

Livvi’s Place offers sand pits and toddler friendly areas as well as climbing nets for the big kids.

Families can enjoy a BBQ at the park with a BBQ and picnic tables located near the playground.
