A great white shark swam inside a shark cage with a diver inside, and of course there’s footage of it online.

The video shows the massive shark squeezing its way into a shark cage — which, yeah, pretty much guarantees we’re never getting in one of those — and thrashing around in the cramped space.

The scariest part? There was a diver in the cage at the time.

But while the footage might look like your worst nightmare’s come to life, the cameraman says the shark meant no harm.

“What might appear to be an aggressive great white shark trying to attack the cage, this is not the case,” the cameraman wrote on YouTube.

“So this shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backwards, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage.”

After a man aboard the boat opens the roof of the cage, the shark thrashes its way out and swims away. That’s when things get real hairy for a second.

“Is somebody in the cage? Somebody’s in the cage!” the cameraman says.

A diver emerges from the water, but luckily, they are completely unharmed.

“The diver is a very experienced dive master, remained calm, and when the shark thrashed back outside the cage, the diver calmly swam back up and climbed out completely uninjured,” the cameraman wrote.

The video was filmed by the father of YouTube stars Gabe and Garrett while he was on vacation in Mexico, and posted to their account.
