When he’s not directing Oscar-winning movies and getting paid insane amounts of money to dress up as Batman, Ben Affleck is just a regular dude from Boston who loves the New England Patriots. A lot. Maybe a little too much.
Affleck appeared on the debut episode of sports journalist Bill Simmons’ new HBO show, Any Given Wednesday, and just laid waste to the NFL over its ‘Deflategate’ scandal.
For those in need of a quick refresher: ‘Deflategate’ was the scandal that saw Tom Brady, the New England Patriots’ legendary quarterback, accused of deflating the football to make it easier for him to grip and throw it. Brady was suspended for four games — actually quite a large chunk of the NFL season — over the scandal, and Patriots fans are probably never going to forgive the NFL for it.
You don’t actually need to know all that to enjoy the video, though — it’s just fun to see a possibly intoxicated Ben Affleck get so wound up.
“Deflategate is the ultimate bulls**t f**king outrage of sports,” Affleck told Simmons. “Ever. It’s so f**king stupid that I can’t believe.”
It’s definitely a different side of Affleck than what we’re used to seeing, and it’s good to see him looking a bit more animated after that ‘Sad Affleck’ video went viral.
Watch the clip above, but be warned — if you don’t want to hear any bad language, this is not the video for you.
