Don’t we all wish we had an ace up our sleeves like this one?

After the fifth season of Game of Thrones, speculation about the true fate of Jon Snow ran wild on the internet — was the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch really dead, or would he somehow be brought back to life?

Very few people knew for sure, and one of those people was Kit Harrington, the actor who plays Jon Snow.

Pulled over by the police and facing a potential speeding fine, Kit was given an opportunity to beat the ticket by the officer, who turned out to be a major Game of Thrones fan.

“[The policeman] said, ‘There’s two ways we can do this. You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in or you can tell me whether you live in the next season of Game of Thrones,” Harrington recently told talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

At first, Harrington thought the officer was joking, but it turned out he was deadly serious, and the actor was forced to give up the juicy spoiler to beat the fine.

Eventually, the officer let Harrington go on his way — with a warning to keep his speed down “this far South of the wall”.
