The makers of The Simpsons dove way back into the Disney archives for this one.

Now in its 27th season, it’s fair to say The Simpsons hasn’t been must-watch television for quite some time — in fact, the mediocre seasons outweigh the great ones by a decent margin now.

Despite its long march into irrelevance, the ‘couch gags’ — i.e. the jokes in the opening title sequence — are still pretty great. For the latest couch gag, they went all out, hiring animator Eric Goldberg — of Aladdin and Fantasia 2000 fame — to pay tribute to Disney’s history.

The sequence places characters from The Simpsons into the worlds of Steamboat Willie, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Jungle Book and Fantasia, making it a must-watch for fans of animation. Watch the clip above!
