Cue rapturous applause from every geek on the planet — the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer has arrived, and it’s brought a few old friends with it.

After being left out of the film’s first trailer, Star Wars legends Han Solo and Chewbacca make an emotional appearance here (I’m not crying — it’s just been raining on my face), along with the voice (and artificial hand) of Luke Skywalker, and a fleeting glimpse at Princess Leia’s new lightsaber (yep, Princess Leia has a lightsaber now).

There’s also a boatload of slick redesigns of old Star Wars favourites, including new takes on Stormtrooper armour, TIE Fighters and X-Wings, and our first proper glimpse at the film’s new baddie, Kylo Ren (reportedly played by Girls star Adam Driver, not that you’ll be able to tell under that helmet).

So, yeah — it’s time to get excited, guys.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released on December 15.
