Zac Mihajlovic, a 29-year-old from Sydney who has built his own street-legal Batmobile, has gone viral in the US.
Mihajlovic built his Batmobile, a replica of the one featured in the 1989 film starring Michael Keaton, over a period of four years with the help of his grandfather. The car even has an afterburner, just like the one in the movie.
Mihajlovic has been driving the car around Australian roads for some time now, making appearances at conventions and working with organisations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation to make dreams come true. He’s shown up on the doorsteps of over 40 children dressed as Batman.
In the last week, the unassuming Aussie has blown up internationally. The above clip, posted by Barcroft Cars, has now been viewed more than 500,000 times!
Full disclosure: I took a ride in Mihajlovic’s Batmobile a while ago, and it was, not a word of a lie, the greatest day of my life.
