Category five Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines at 4.30am local time on Friday 8 November forcing millions of people to seek shelter. Australian rescue crews have rushed to the scene to provide aid alongside other countries and rescue organizations.

The aid group World Vision has welcomed the Australian Government’s commitment of $10 million towards the Philippines typhoon relief, but says more will be needed. There are a number of Australian charities that have provided a way for everybody to lend a helping hand.
