Queensland police say Mark Emmanuel Spencer, 37, was killed in a targeted attack at his Gold Coast home.

A man has been bashed to death in a targeted attack at his Gold Coast home, police say.

Mark Emmanuel Spencer, 37, was found by his housemate on the porch of their home in northern Gold Coast suburb of Coomera at about 4am on Wednesday.

Mr Spencer had sustained severe head injuries, and despite attempts to resuscitate him, he was dead by the time emergency services could get to the single-storey home on an acreage property.

Police say the victim was known to them and believe the death was not an accident.

“Every indication at this stage is that this was not a random event in any way,” Detective Superintendent David Hutchinson told reporters.

“It was more of a targeted situation.”

Mr Spencer’s body was removed from the home just before 5pm on Wednesday although forensics teams and detectives remained at the property searching for evidence.

No suspects have been identified and police are urging anyone with information about Mr Spencer’s death or details of any suspicious activity in the area to contact them.

The family of the father of two are heading from northern NSW to assist police with their investigation.
