A South Korean man has been threatened, punched and robbed of his bike in a far north Queensland park.

Two teenage boys threatened to cut off a man’s fingers with scissors before stealing his bike in far north Queensland.

Police say the South Korean man was walking through parkland in Cairns at 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, allegedly walked up to the man armed with scissors and threatened to cut off his fingers before punching him in the face and stealing his bike.

The teens were arrested a short time later.

They’ve been charged with one count each of armed robbery and wilful damage by graffiti and will be dealt with under the Youth Justices Act.
