An armed man entered a woman’s car in Queensland and told her to drive down a highway, even though a three-year-old child was inside.
A woman and a child in a car have been abducted at gunpoint in Toowoomba.
An armed man entered the car on Thursday morning and forced the woman to drive from an outer suburb in the southern Queensland city to a small town more than 100 kilometres away.
The 26-year-old woman had a three-year-old child inside at the time.
She was taken at gunpoint in Drayton and forced to drive down the Gore Highway towards Kindon, which is past the Wondul Range National Park.
She was then told to get out of her black sedan before the man drove off in a second car which had been following her vehicle.
Police found the woman and the child at Kindon and took them to Goondiwindi Hospital for assessment.
They had not sustained any physical injuries and were released.
A police media spokesman was unable to confirm their relationship or the child’s gender.
Investigations are continuing.
