A man has been charged with multiple driving offences over a crash that killed one of his passengers on the Sunshine Coast.

An unlicensed drunk driver has been charged over a crash that killed his passenger in southeast Queensland.

The man, 57, allegedly crashed the car on Lindsay Road, Buderim, in the early hours of February 20.

A passenger, 49, died at the scene, while the driver and another passenger were taken to hospital.

The driver is facing charges for drink driving, driving without a licence and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.

He’s due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 1.
