An elderly woman has been struck and killed by a car being driven by a man on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

An elderly woman has been hit and killed by a car on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The car, being driven by an elderly man, mounted the kerb and ploughed into the woman and another man at Maroochydore about noon on Friday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man has serious head injuries.

“There was two pedestrians that were struck by the black car that’s actually rolled,” Maroochydore paramedic Dianne Cross told ABC Radio.

“So that black car has mounted the pavement, hit the two pedestrians and hit three parked cars.”

The 76-year-old driver was also injured and has been taken to hospital.
