A man has been stabbed several times with a screwdriver in north Brisbane, but hasn’t made a complaint, suggesting to police he knew his attacker.

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed several times with a screwdriver.

Police say the 31-year-old likely knew who stabbed him in the neck, chest and abdomen at the Petrie train station, in north Brisbane, on Thursday night.

“There was no complaint forthcoming, so it’s assumed they’re known to each other,” a spokeswoman told AAP.

Police are investigating but haven’t laid charges, given the victim hasn’t made a complaint.

The man was taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition after emergency crews received calls for help just after 9pm.
