A teenage girl has gone missing in a town in the state’s far north, with police asking the public for help to find her.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find a teenage girl missing in far north Queensland.

Catherine Hookey, 16, was last seen at a residence on Albert Crescent, Ayr, about 3.30am on April 30.

There are concerns for her welfare as she hasn’t been in contact with her family for a number of days – behaviour that’s out of character.

Catherine is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, around 160cm tall and has a slim build.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
