Queensland Mongols bikie gang member Wade Yates-Taui could be locked up in an LA jail for two months ahead of his extradition to Australia.

Queensland cage fighter and Mongols bike gang member Wade Yates-Taui is being held in Los Angeles’ fortress-like Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC).

Yates-Taui will likely remain in the federal prison, located in downtown Los Angeles, until he is extradited back to Australia for last year’s stabbing death of 28-year-old Max Waller on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Yates-Taui, 22, dressed in a Mongols jumper, was arrested by US Marshals at a hotel outside of Los Angeles on the weekend.

He has 60 days to appeal against his extradition, and has already appeared in a Los Angles court.

Yates-Taui faces being charged with a count of unlawful killing.

Police expect to arrest another two Mongols associates in southeast Queensland over Waller’s stabbing death in front of a Broadbeach holiday complex in June 2013.

The MDC holds almost 1000 inmates.
