A man has been arrested in Sydney over the murder of a young woman in far north Queensland more than a week ago.
A man will be extradited from NSW over the murder of a young woman in far north Queensland.
The body of white water rafting guide Jo La Spina was found in the bedroom of a Bingil Bay home, south of Cairns, on Saturday, April 19.
The 26-year-old had spent the previous evening having dinner and dancing with a group of friends before returning to Bingil Bay and heading to bed.
That was the last time she was seen alive.
Queensland detectives will travel to NSW on Monday to seek the extradition of a man who was arrested at Cronulla, in Sydney, about 4pm (AEST) on Sunday.
The 31-year-old from South Mission Beach, near Bingil Bay, is expected to appear in the Sutherland Local Court on Monday.
Police said the man could be returned to Queensland as early as Wednesday, where he would face the Cairns Magistrates Court.
