Severe thunderstorms may produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall causing flash flooding and large hailstones in southeast Qld, forecasters say.

Severe thunderstorms are due to roll through southeast Queensland.

The storms were lashing Laidley in the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane, on Sunday afternoon.

They’ll move northeast to hit parts of Brisbane city and Moreton Bay bringing damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding, forecasters say.
