Brisbane’s Tom Rockliff has accepted a one-game AFL ban for rough conduct against Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell.

Brisbane midfielder Tom Rockliff will miss Sunday’s AFL match against Geelong after accepting a one-game ban for rough conduct.

The AFL handed Rockliff a two-game ban for contact with Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell early in Saturday’s match at Launceston, but with no existing record he was able to reduce the penalty with an early plea.

West Coast utility Sharrod Wellingham accepted a reprimand and 66 demerit points for tripping Western Bulldogs defender Jason Johannisen in Sunday’s win at Patersons Stadium.

With both players accepting punishment, the tribunal will not sit this week.
