Brisbane Roar have added more firepower to their already impressive arsenal by signing Costa Rican striker Jean Carlos Solorzano for the rest of the season.
A-League leaders Brisbane Roar have welcomed back 2011 championship winning striker Jean Carlos Solorzano, signing him for the rest of the season.
The Roar are yet to announce their plans to fill the gap when star striker Besart Berisha leaves for Melbourne Victory at season’s end.
However, they’ve made their championship intentions clear for 2013-14, adding the Costa Rican Solorzano to their already impressive arsenal.
Coach Mike Mulvey said Solorzano was a fine fit after the departure of youngster Kwame Yeboah to German club Borussia Monchengladbach last month.
“As a club, we were looking for a quality player to add depth to the squad after the departure of Kwame Yeboah,” coach Mike Mulvey said of Solorzano, who scored 11 goals for the Roar in the 2010-11 season.
“We wanted to add a goal-scoring option off the bench, someone who is capable of scoring late goals and Nico is proven goal-scorer in this competition.”
Solorzano may be available for selection for Sunday’s home clash with Central Coast Mariners depending on his international clearance.
