An ambitious and caring group of ladies came together on Friday 4 September for A Rainbow of Hope Lunch – a day to help raise funds for schools in Timor-Leste.

The Rainbow Committee together with the Edmund Rice Foundation held the lunch at the Story Bridge Hotel, to help raise money to build a tekka (kindergarten) in Poerema, a rural village in the mountains behind Dili.

The Rainbow Committee aspires to bring hope and education to the lives of children in Timor-Leste by raising money to build schools, improve existing schools and provide resources, teachers and education programs particular in rural areas.

With a passion to support the Edmund Rice Foundation’s education and health projects in Timor-Leste, the committee has inspired hundreds of women to connect, support and give hope to the women and children of Timor-Leste through friendship, funds and the belief that all children are entitled to an education and good health.
