He’s not just a rugby hero, but George Gregan is proving himself to be a bit of a culinary hero about town too.

George and Erica Gregan opened their latest café venture this week in One One One Eagle Street. The closing of Philip Johnson’s Bistro One Eleven at the end of 2013 has opened the opportunity for the Gregans to move in and try their hand at the Brisbane CBD food scene.
The café, GG Espresso, is the first of two venues to open. GG espresso specializes in great coffee and food and catering for corporate and private events. Established in 1998 by George and Erica Gregan, the company has grown to 14 cafes including street outlets and staff only facilities. The second, The George Bar & Bistro, will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and shared plates, and is due to open in early February 2014.
With twenty venues to their name in Sydney, including espresso bars, wine bars and the recent bistro addition The Local, this is the first time the Gregans have ventured into the Brisbane market. “The Brisbane dining scene is so exciting, with Brisbane customers truly discerning; we can’t wait to open and share our menus with the city,” says Erica.
We excited to welcome the Gregans to our city, and can’t wait to check out The George.
