Less than a month after losing her job at 97.3FM, popular Brisbane radio host Robin Bailey has bounced back with a new gig at Triple M Brisbane Breakfast.

Robin will join Triple M’s brekkie show with Greg Martin and Ed Kavalee in 2017.

Bailey was the co-host of 97.3FM’s breakfast program with Terry Hansen and Bob Gallagher until last month, when the station announced her contract would not be renewed. Bailey then issued a statement slamming the announcement as “a complete shock” that was “not a joint decision”.

The popular media personality recently launched a new podcast, The Well, with author Rebecca Sparrow; the podcast sees the pair road-testing techniques for a better, happier and more meaningful life.

“When Triple M offered me a role, I jumped at the chance,” Bailey said in a statement issued this morning.

“To join Marto & Ed for breakfast is a dream come true. It means I will be able to continue to do what I love most, broadcasting to the people of Brisbane. I’m really looking forward to this great new challenge.

“Of course it will be slightly different to what I’ve done before, but I’m very much looking forward to being a part of the Ed and Marto show.

“I love rock music, I’ve been a sneaky listener of Triple M for years. Bring on more Cold Chisel, I say!”

Southern Cross Austero’s Brisbane general manager, Damon Rielly, said the station couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring Bailey on board.

“After hearing about Robin’s sudden departure from her previous breakfast commitments, we jumped at the opportunity to have her join Triple M’s breakfast show in 2017.

“Robin loves Brisbane and loves her rock and I can’t wait for Brisbane to wake up to Marto, Ed and Robin next year to start the day finding out what matters in Brisbane.”
