A street art mural of Olympian Libby Trickett has been unveiled at her childhood swimming pool in Fortitude Valley.

A three-time Olympic gold medalist, Libby’s 100m butterfly gold medal winning moment has been recreated by local street artist Drapl.

Libby unveiled the mural — commissioned by Toyota Australia, and created entirely out of spray paint — at her childhood swimming club, Valley Pool in Fortitude Valley.

She said she hopes it will serve as an inspiration to Brisbane’s aspiring swimming champions.

“I’m thrilled to have been chosen to appear in Toyota Australia’s ‘Instant Immortals’ series,” she said.

“It’s a wonderful way to remember my proudest sporting achievement to date and I hope that future swimmers here at the pool can be inspired by my success story and that of others.”

The Instant Immortals series also includes a mural for Paralympic gold medal winner Dylan Alcott by artist Mulga, unveiled at the Kingsville Tennis Club in Footscray, Melbourne.

You’ll find Libby Trickett’s mural at 432 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley.
