Are you looking forward to watching Game Of Thrones Season 5? Here are the cheapest ways to get your fix.

Purchase a season download

Foxtel’s exclusive rights to Game Of Thrones only last until each season reaches an end. After that it becomes available from places like Google Play, iTunes and Quickflix. Last year, Season 4 popped up on Google Play just over 24 hours after finishing its Foxtel run. It then became available on iTunes just two weeks later. This method does mean you’ll have to hold-out for the season to finish, but at least you’ll be able to watch it all in one go, right, binge-watching aficionados?

Subscribe to Foxtel Play for three months, and ONLY three months

Foxtel’s online streaming service Foxtel Play recently slashed the price of its Premium Movies & Drama package to just $5. Watching the full fifth season of Game of Thrones will set you back a total of $90.

That’s not cheap, true, but it beats paying almost $700 for Foxtel (which is what you’ll be looking at for a 12-month contract once you factor in equipment and installation fees). As soon as the season ends, you’ll be free to cancel your Foxtel Play subscription.

Scam your way into HBO Now

HBO has begun offering a streaming service that will carry Game of Thrones, but here’s the bad news — it’s only available to US customers. That’s not necessarily a problem, though, if you use a VPN service and a fake US iTunes account to convince your Apple TV that you’re an American.

HBO Now will set you back $14.99 a month after your 30-day free trial, but consider yourself warned — while using a VPN to get around geo-blocks isn’t illegal, exactly, it’s not exactly encouraged, either.

Pirate it

This is a possibility, but we strongly suggest you don’t do it. A torrent containing the first four episodes of season five hit the internet over the weekend and has already been accessed thousands of times. However, the episodes are only in standard definition quality and with the recent crackdown on pirating and illegal downloading still hanging over your head, it’s best to not go down that path.</p>

Wait for it to come out on DVD or Blu-ray

OK, so you’ll be waiting a long time, but it is still an option and you can rent it pretty cheaply from one of the remaining DVD chains. Help us keep Blockbuster alive, guys!
