Brett Rankin, Taylor Cooper and Anthony Brown have shared the spoils in the second round of the bmag Week of Golf at the Victoria Park Pro Am.

Conditions were perfect for scoring at the second annual Victoria Park Pro Am, though storms threatened to put a dampener on the event late in the day.

Brett Rankin and Taylor Cooper made the most of the morning conditions to fire seven under par 56 to hold the clubhouse lead after the morning field. The score could only be later matched by Anthony Brown, with the three players sharing the spoils at the Victoria Park Pro Am.

The win has moved both Rankin and Brown into a share of the lead in the bmag Week of Golf, with both players sitting on a 10 under par total through two rounds.

The win for Brown is his first on the Queensland Sunshine Tour since the 2011 Royal Queensland Cup.

“I really enjoyed playing the course at Victoria Park today and although there are some short holes, there are still holes that really require you to hit a good golf shot if you are going to be rewarded,” said Brown. “It’s nice to be in the lead after two rounds of the bmag Week of Golf, but there is plenty of golf to be played between now and Friday. As long as I keep playing my own game, I am sure I will be in a position to pounce come Friday afternoon at the Royal Queensland Cup.”

Professionals will now make their way to the Indooroopilly Pro Am today, before dining at the Choice Hotel Professional BBQ tonight.
