It’s official — Brisbanites love a man (or woman) in uniform.

Are you a police officer, fireman, soldier, nurse, doctor or pilot looking for love? You might just be in luck.

A recent survey by the team at (who, let’s face it, are more than a little biased) has found that 78 per cent of Brisbanites would consider entering into a relationship with a man or woman in uniform.

It’s not all good news, though, as the same survey found that almost a quarter (22 per cent) of uniformed Aussies have seen a relationship end because of long work hours.

The survey also found that Australia’s men and women in uniform are looking for life partners, rather than a fleeting fling — 91 per cent of uniformed respondents said they want to enter into a relationship for the long haul.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, doctors and nurses topped the list of the most desirable professions for Brisbanites.

  4. Pilot

Would you date a man or woman in uniform?

Niche online dating is a relatively new concept for Australians, but there are many people out there who are looking for a dating service that’s more tailored to their needs. say they offer this niche service because people who wear a uniform for a living have particular needs in a partner — they have to be able to deal with those long hours, for a start, and there’s also the confronting fact that many uniform wearers are in the business of risking their lives.
