Voting has now opened for one of the biggest music democracies – The Triple J Hottest 100!

Voting for Triple J’s Hottest 100 opened today at midday and will run until midday 20 January.

You can ensure your favourite artist or track makes it into the Australia Day reveal by voting for your top 10 tracks of 2013 on their website.

If you’re not ready today- which many of us probably aren’t- you have plenty of time to short list all your favourites into a compact list.

You may choose to look through your downloads or converse with friends and family or even go through the extensive data base and see what jumps out to you for your Hottest 100 picks.

Already there are some clear favourites with Lorde’s ‘Royals’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ likely to make most people’s top choices this year.

Not only is the countdown a great way to live some great musical memories and rediscover favourites from the year that has been, but Triple J also offers some great prizes for voting.

As an incentive to cast your vote, Triple J are giving voters the chance to win a double pass to every Triple J presented festival and gig in 2014, including Laneway Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival, The National, Phoenix and Arctic Monkeys.

The Hottest 100 has seen these artists secure the top spot over the last five years:

2012- Macklemore & Ryan Lewis- Thrift Shop {Ft. Wanz}

2011- GotyeSomebody- That I Used to Know {ft. Kimbra}

2010- Angus & Julia Stone- Big Jet Plane

2009- Mumford & Sons- Little Lion Man

2008- Kings Of Leon- Sex On Fire

Who do you think will take the number one spot this year in the Hottest 100?
