One of the most beloved films in history is coming back to the big screen for one night only.
The popular In The House program brings cult classics back to the big screen every second Friday night at Event Cinemas Myer Centre.
As part of the program, Steven Spielberg’s classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial — the blockbuster that surpassed Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time, a record it held for 11 years — will screen for an audience that may never have had the chance to see it at the movies before.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, this timeless story of the friendship between 10-year-old Elliott and the alien named E.T. is still as powerful as ever.
The film was nominated for nine Oscars at the 55th Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It was beaten to that award by Gandhi, whose director, Richard Attenborough, later declared: “I was certain that not only would E.T. win, but that it should win. It was inventive, powerful, [and] wonderful.”
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial — starring Henry Thomas, Drew Barrymore and Dee Wallace, with an unforgettable score by John Williams — will screen at Event Cinemas Myer Centre on Friday 14 April. For more info and tickets, visit eventcinemas.com.au.
