Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer will be bringing two special guests with him to Australia.

Announced late last year, Hans Zimmer Revealed is a must-see concert event that’ll see the legendary Zimmer performing music from throughout his storied career in film.

The two-part concert will start off with some of Zimmer’s classic movie scores, including Gladiator, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean, while the second half of the show will feature re-imagined versions of his iconic scores for films like The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception.

The tour kicked off with a sold-out two-night run at London’s Wembley Arena, and will hit cities like London, Paris, Munich, Prague, Geneva, Dublin and Vienna before making its way to Brisbane.

“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to visit Australia and New Zealand and return to Europe where we had so much fun playing in the summer,” Zimmer says.

“I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”

Zimmer will be joined on stage in Australia by two renowned film vocalists, Lebo M and Lisa Gerrard.

Lebo M is best known as the voice of The Lion King, having worked as an arranger, co-producer and performer on both the Disney feature film and the hit Broadway musical — his voice is the first you hear in the film, singing that unforgettable chant over the opening credits. He’s also lent his voice to films like The Power of One, Congo, Tears of the Sun and The Legend of Tarzan.

Lisa Gerrard is an acclaimed film composer in her own right, having won a Golden Globe for her work with Zimmer on Gladiator, and an Academy Award nomination for Whale Rider. She’s also been lauded for her work on Ali and The Insider, and recently performed alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Hans Zimmer Revealed will hit the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday 6 May. Tickets are available now and selling fast; visit ticketek.com.au.
