The Brisbane leg of the Laneway Festival falls on the same day as the Hottest 100 countdown this year, and festival organisers don’t want you to miss out.

The Laneway crew have announced that they’ll be throwing a Hottest 100 Backyard Party within the grounds of the festival, so you don’t have to choose between going to Laneway and listening to the countdown.

The backyard party will be hosted by The Grates’ Patience Hodgson and comedian Mel Buttle. The likes of Laneway favourites Violent Soho and DZ Deathrays will also be dropping by to sign vinyl, chat to the hosts and help count down the best songs of 2016.

There’ll be a live stream, plenty of shade, cocktails by The Bowery, and BBQ served up by Crafted Q.

Laneway artists like D.D. Dumbo, Glass Animals, Camp Cope, Julia Jacklin, Tash Sultana, Nick Murphy and A.B. Original are all likely to make appearances in the countdown this year, so there are bound to be plenty of good vibes to go around.
