The massive live production of Singin’ in the Rain has opened in Brisbane — and to celebrate, the film is returning to the big screen.
Event Cinemas Chermside will be screening the original Singin’ in the Rain film, starring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, for one night only with a special guest appearance from members of the stage show’s cast.
It’s a great opportunity for fans to get up close and personal with the cast for a Q&A and signing experience, and go into the draw to win tickets to the musical production.
Singin’ in the Rain had great success in the UK, selling out its West End season, earning rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, receiving four Olivier Award nominations, and embarking on a major UK tour.
Making a splash from the moment it made its Australian premiere in Melbourne earlier this year, the musical — which uses 12,000 litres of recycled water — is now set to delight Queensland audiences with all the charm, romance, comedy and classic Tinseltown glamour of one of the world’s most beloved films.
Combining sumptuous sets, costumes and the exhilarating spectacle of rain live on stage, Singin’ in the Rain will give audiences something to sing about in a strictly limited season at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre until Sunday 30 October. For tickets, visit qpac.com.au.
The film will screen at Event Cinemas Chermside on Sunday 9 October; with a chance to meet the cast from 12:30pm, followed by the film at 1pm. For tickets, visit eventcinemas.com.au.
