The line-up for Valley Fiesta’s 20th anniversary festival has been revealed.

Presented by Brisbane City Council, the all-ages event will feature more than 50 live acts across three days, and bring the laneways and streets surrounding Brunswick Street Mall and Chinatown to life with a showcase of arts, food and cultural experiences.

Sydney rockers The Vines will headline, and they’ll be joined on the bill by Brisbane’s Hey Geronimo, Yvng Jalapeno, These Guy and Morning Harvey, Sydney’s Polographia and Jess Kent, and Melbourne’s Harts and Nyck.

Chinatown will also host a series of multicultural celebrations, with entertainment from African, Japanese, Tibetan, Flamenco and Middle Eastern bands, as well as dance workshops and musical performances.

Event director Murray Sutherland says this year’s Fiesta will do justice to the event’s 20-year milestone.

“Valley Fiesta has grown significantly over the past 20 years to become one of Brisbane’s favourite festivals,” he says.

“As you can see from this year’s line-up, it has become more than just a street party; it has a huge focus on entertainment while shining a light on the various businesses in Fortitude Valley and its rich multicultural environment.

“This year’s schedule is packed, with some of the finest entertainment the Australian music scene has to offer, with a number of local artists featured.

“The program will be jam-packed with pop-up bars, laneway events, busking auditions, the QMA Band of the Year showcase, live and local band and DJ competitions, Valley Markets and a host of other local activities and experiences. There really is something for everyone.”

Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk says the Fiesta will celebrate the vibrant culture of the Valley and provide a boost for local businesses.

“Valley Fiesta has become an integral part of Brisbane’s social calendar showcasing the best of the music and cultural offering,” Cr Quirk says.

“Brisbane City Council is proud to present this event, which not only gives artists a platform to showcase their talents, but also encourages more residents to experience the dining and entertainment opportunities that the Valley has to offer.

“We can’t wait to see as many people as possible supporting Valley Fiesta this year, making the most of the wonderful entertainment gathered to mark the festival’s 20th year.”

Valley Fiesta is an all-ages event, and will run from Friday 28 October to Sunday 30 October. For more information, visit
