The old church on Warner Street in Fortitude Valley is being transformed into a mini-golf course and cocktail bar.

The old church at 25 Warner Street has been home to various dance clubs over the years, but now its dark walls are being drenched with crazy colours and its empty dance floor is being converted into a putt putt course.

From the people behind Strike Bowling comes the Holey Moley Golf Club, a ‘leisure-tainment’ experience unlike any other in the country. It’s a cocktail bar, a mini-golf course, a retro throwback and a work of art rolled into one chaotic venue that will open from 10am ’til late, seven days a week.

There’ll be two different nine-hole courses to choose from, with punters putting around 18 uniquely themed holes.

Expect a mash-up of Alice in Wonderland, surf culture, puppeteers, retro video games, classic carnival fun and even Game of Thrones. We can’t wait to see how that works, exactly.

There’ll be a gourmet kitchen to sort all the grub-on-the-green needs, and there’s lots of cocktails. The bar at Holey Moley will be called, of course, The Caddyshack, and they’re raising the par on drinks with custom cocktails like the Tee Quila Mocking Birdie, Teeyonce Holes, Long Island Iced Tee, G & Tee, Tigertini, Arnold Palmer, and the So Par So Good.

They’ll also have a Don’t Worry Be Hoppy beer list and a selection of drinks for ‘tee-totallers’.

Holey Moley Golf Club tees off on Thursday 29 September. Subscribe to Bmag for updates!
