Four venues across Fortitude Valley will host a range of performances and parties on Thursday 30 June in Brisbane’s Big Kick On event, marking the last night before Queensland’s new lockout laws kick in.

The Brightside, Black Bear Lodge, The Flying Cock and The Foundry are all set to participate in the event, protesting against Queensland’s lockout laws which are set to take effect on 1 July 2016.

This first stage of the law will mean that 2am last drinks apply in venues across Queensland (3am in designated ‘Safe Night Out’ entertainment precincts). Then in February 2017, the law will amp up even further to enforce a 1am lockout for all venues.

To celebrate their last night of ‘party freedom’, the four venues will host a range of performances, including sets from local favourites, Baskervillain, The Jensens, Twin Haus, Camouflage Rose, Erick Sanders, Golden Vessel, Shag Rock, Surfin’ Bird, Romy and more.

Whether you’re into layered electronica, garage-pop stylings or rock, there will be something for every auditory palate.

Party-goers can gain free entry to all four participating venues by signing an anti-lockout law petition at the door.

Brisbane’s Big Kick On event will be held at The Brightside, Black Bear Lodge, The Flying Cock and The Foundry in Fortitude Valley on Thursday 30 June from 8pm.
