Brisbane Writers Festival invites you to be inspired this June, at the Inspire Festival at Brisbane Powerhouse.

Held on Saturday 18 June, the Inspire Festival is designed to evoke inspired thought and positive action in your life.

Featuring dynamic speakers from around the country including Stan Grant and Mark Bahnisch alongside home grown Queensland talent including Tim Fairfax AC, Catherine McGregor AM and the dynamic duo behind Orange Sky Laundry, the festival will make you think, feel and act.

Brisbane Writers Festival Acting CEO and Festival Director Julie Beveridge says “Whether you join us for the whole day or just attend the session that speaks to you the most – you will have the opportunity to listen to people who have actually made the transition from everyday lives to leading a more inspired and meaningful life.”

“Each session will explore themes relevant to all of us and will surprise, challenge and provoke, but most of all give you that call to action which will inspire you and those with whom you share your life to take it forward in a positive way.”

This year there will be three different sessions for the public to attend.

From 10am is Inspire TALK, a talk all about the art of conversation being lost in world of social media, texting and tweets. Robin Bailey, Trent Dalton and Stan Grant – three conversational maestros who have spent their careers curating and creating intimate portraits of lives and stories of others – share their deep insights into the art of conversation and how it can encourage human connection and conversation.

From 12:30pm enjoy Inspire DEMOCRACY, a talk with Mark Bahnisch, Dr Lorann Downer and Jan Owen AM about democracy and what it means in modern Australia, including discussions on how we vote.

From 3pm is Inspire DRIVE, a discussion with awarded Australians and Queenslanders of the Year all about their dreams and what inspires them to continue.
