As part of the Brewvegas Festival, Beerkary Bakery will create a Happy Gilmore inspired “happy place” for beer and baked good lovers next Sunday in the Wandering Cooks car park.
Filled with local beers, beer-matched food and a pop-up mini golf course, the event not only celebrates Brisbane’s Brewvegas festival it also celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the 1996 film Happy Gilmore, starring Adam Sandler.
If you’ve never heard of them Beerkary is a pop-up bakery boasting a menu of craft beers and baked goods.
Created by chef Ben Devlin (Halcyon House and ex-Esquire), the unique Beerkary menu is inspired by the specific flavour profiles of matching beers and often uses the same hops and malts.
Starting at 10am, event goers can expect to try sweet and savoury treats including beercarons, layer cake, grilled meats, fresh breads and pastries. And, beer lovers will be pleased to know, there will be a special beer showcase from Croft Brewing, featuring beers like Wheat Ale, Red Rye and Lime IPA. There will also be an endless cash bar.
Golf costumes are also encouraged on the day, so get your best outfit on and get swinging!
Beerkary’s golf day will be held on Sunday 20 March at Wandering Cooks, located at 1 Fish Lane (cnr Cordelia St) in South Brisbane. For more information or for tickets visit boyandbird.wordpress.com
