Take a step back in time and party like it’s 1949 this New Year’s Eve at Breakfast Creek Hotel’s free event.

The Breakfast Creek Hotel’s famed Substation No.41 Rum Bar is set to be transformed into a 1940s themed party venue – just in time to ring in 2016!

Dress up in your best Great Gatsby attire and enjoy live music from Dezzie D and The Stingrays, a five piece Rhythm and Blues band. Other entertainment on the night will include 1940s movies and live Sydney fireworks showing on Queensland’s biggest TV screen.

Manager of the Breakfast Creek Hotel, Sam Gullo says it would be a chance for people of all ages to experience an iconic era in an equally iconic venue.

“The 1940s was a jubilant era that was famed for its jitterbugs, big bands and even bigger parties,” he says.

“We’re encouraging people to dress in costume to really add to the atmosphere of the evening.”

Giveaways and best-dressed prizes will be awarded throughout the night so get those pearl necklaces and flapper dresses on ladies!

“Entry is free to the Substation no.41 Rum Bar where people will enjoy classic 1940s inspired cocktails specially created for the night,” Sam says.

Sounds like the perfect way to kick start the New Year!
