QAGOMA’s Christmas Design Market is back again for another festive season with an incredible array of unique handmade gifts and goodies.

Held on Saturday 28 November out front of GOMA’s store, the Christmas Design Market is a Christmas shopper’s dream.

QAGOMA’s Katie Themor says this year’s markets will have more stallholders than ever before.

“The markets are all about supporting local talent and businesses who specialise in handmade arts and crafts,” she says.

“This year we will have more than 40 stalls, with a wonderful range of ceramics, homewares, clothing, jewellery and paper products on offer from some of Brisbane’s leading craft and design artists.”

“There is a high saturation of markets around these days, but this one’s really unlike any other in Brisbane.”

Katie says the markets are a great opportunity for shoppers to get some Christmas shopping done early.

“There are heaps of brilliant gifts on offer. The great thing about them is that they’re all beautiful and unique and they all have a story behind them,” she says.

“We have a very considered approach in choosing our stallholders – valuing work that is unique, handmade and high quality.”

“Our fantastic market curator, Kylie Johnson from Paper Boat Press will be selling her wonderful ceramics on the day, including some artisan Christmas ornaments. Her work is incredible and she is well respected in the craft community.”

Katie says other artists include; Ellen Powell from Blushing Confetti, Jessica Davis from Vessel and Vine, Clairy Laurence, Anna Hulm and Maria from Obliss.

“It is a truly special event that is sure to impress,” Katie says.

And, “this year the markets will also coincides with The 8th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, so market-goers can really make a day of it.”

QAGOMA’s Christmas Design Market will be held at GOMA Cultural Precinct, just next to the GOMA Store on Saturday 28 November from 9-4pm.
