Marty McFly is set to arrive this month! Here’s how you can celebrate this important pop culture milestone in Brisbane.

Next Wednesday is October 21, 2015 – AKA the date Marty, Doc and Jennifer visited in Back to the Future II, a momentous date that fans of the hit trilogy have been waiting for.

Here’s how Brisbane plans to celebrate.

Back in Time

This documentary features interviews with director Robert Zemeckis, screenwriter Bob Gale, executive producer Steven Spielberg, stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson, 80’s Rocker Huey Lewis (who wrote and sang two songs for the film, Power of Love and Back in Time) and mega-fans including Dan Harmon (Community, Rick and Morty). It has been hailed as a must-see for film buffs, children of the ‘80s, and anyone who’s ever wished they had a flux capacitor.

Back to the Future at Hoyts

Relive the timeless classic on the big screen this Wednesday October 21 starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Tickets include a Choc–top and regular popcorn,so don your self-drying jacket and double ties, set your levitating robotic leashes to take the dog for a walk, invite friends out for a rehydrated pizza, and return to the good old days of 1985.

Bacchus to the Future

Bacchus Brewing Co will have 14 themed beers on tap to celebrate Marty and Doc’s arrival in 2015. The boys are coming all this way – travelling over 30 years! – so they’ll probably need a drink once they get here, right? Here’s the list:

The projector screen in the brewery, usually reserved for major sports events, will be showing the first Back to the Future movie.

It’ll be two days after their actual arrival when the Bacchus to the Future celebrations begin on Friday 23 October at The Bacchus Brewing Company, Unit 1, 2 Christine Place, Capalaba from midday until 11.00pm.

Back 2 the Future Day at Miss Kay’s

If you’ve ever been to this cool George St bar and diner, you’ve probably seen Back to the Future playing on loop on the big screen TV — so you know these guys had to get involved with the celebrations.

On Wednesday 21 October, they’ll be giving every customer that purchases a food item a ticket to go in the draw to win some limited movie merchandise — including a replica hoverboard, framed memorabilia signed by Michael J Fox and more!
