Get ready for Australia’s biggest colour festival on Saturday 10 October, featuring live entertainment and colour throwing every hour!

Held at the University of Queensland in St Lucia, the Spring Flare Festival is all about cultivating human spirit.

According to Indian tradition, long ago in the kingdom of Vraja there was a celestial forest that was home to the divine couple Radhey and Shyam. Radhey had the hue of molten gold and Shyam was bluish like a dark rain cloud.

During the spring, when the forest was in bloom, the villagers held a grand celebration to show their love for Radhey and Shyam. Amidst the dancing, music and feasting they threw flower petals, scented juices and colourful powders everywhere, and this became an annual tradition known as Holi – the colour festival.

The colour festival is still celebrated to this day throughout South-East Asia and now it’s right here in Brisbane!

Whether you’re young or old, rich or poor, man or woman, friend or stranger, Spring Flare aims to bring everyone together for a fun-filled colourful day.

This year’s festival will feature an incredible line up of musicians and bands like Delta Riggs, Jackie Onassis, Willow Beats and Paces.

So, get colourful, make some friends and have a blast!

Spring Flare will be held at UQ on Saturday 10 October from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.
