Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse is set to host the Country Music Raceday on Saturday 12 September.

There’ll be various races on the day, not to mention some sweet country music that will take the event late into the evening.

On the bill for the day, we have The McClymonts, who will be headlining the festival. Among the sea of country artists, we also have Brisbane sister trio Dozzi, Seleen McAlister, Taylor Moss, Steve Grace, and others, many of whom have performed at different country music festivals, including the iconic Tamworth and Broadbeach events.

The off-track entertainment will see another first for Doomben in the Dunny Derby, a famous Aussie outback racing event in which the outhouse becomes a chariot in a race down the course proper.

Add to that a spoons-playing Grandma from Western Australia, YouTube sensation Deb ‘Spoons’ Perry, a country Fashions on the Field and a sack race on the track and you’ve really got an event like no other.

Country Music Raceday is expected to attract punters from all over Queensland with new hospitality packages now available after first round packages sold out.

The event will support the Buy a Bale charity. Buy a Bale was started by the team at The Give Back Campaign, after seeing the struggle Aussie farmers were having with being forced off their land. They decided that the best thing to do would be to ask fellow Australians to buy them bales of hay, and it would be delivered where needed the most.

From every ticket purchased at the Country Music Raceday, $10 will be donated to Buy a Bale in order to assist the farming communities in need.

So put on your finest for the races (outrageous fascinator included!) and make your mere presence at the Country Music Raceday a contribution for farming communities.
