Cut your hair and show you care this weekend at the Hairathon in South Bank Parklands.
Held on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, the Hairathon will see talented stylists and hairdressers from across Brisbane volunteering their time for 24 hours of non-stop hairdressing out of a pop up salon.
Located on the River Quay Green, the Hairathon pop-up salon is expected to see hundreds of people sitting down for a stylish do, all in support of a good cause.
The event will welcome special guest and popular gentlemen’s barber, Audi Lincoln from Man & Moustache for 3 hours on Saturday 15 August from 5pm to 8pm. So gentlemen if you’re in need of a haircut, get down there!
The Hairathon is run by the Kelly Carlton Legacy which aims to raise funds and support cancer care.
The foundation began after 43 year old Kelly Carlton lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer in 2013. Her vision was to help to provide care to cancer patients, so Kelly’s friends and family made it their mission to see her dream come to reality.
They’re definitely heading in the right direction!
The Kelly Carlton Legacy has already raised $8000 which is going towards the Mater Cancer Care Wellness Centre to fund new programs like arts and music therapy. All the proceeds from the Hairathon will go to the Mater as well.
The Hairathon will also be in conjunction with the River Run 100 event, a charity fun run aiming to raise money for various charities.
Cheer the runners on while you’re waiting for a haircut or if you’re participating in the fun run, maybe you could stop by for a hair cut after the run?
So cut your hair and show you care this weekend at the 24hr Hairathon, held from 5pm Saturday 15 August until 5pm Sunday 16 August at South Bank Parklands.
