You know him as the actor, writer, and director behind movies like Clerks — now Kevin Smith is bringing his comedic genius to Brisbane audiences.
Clerks won the Filmmakers Trophy at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival and the Prix de la Jeunesse Awawrd at Cannes Film Festival the same year. Due to the success of Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob, the alter-egos of Smith and his co-star Jason Mewes, have also become much loved icons and have continued to pop up in films such as Mallrats and Chasing Amy.
Smith’s long list of films also include Jersey Girl (2004), Red State (2011) and Tusk (2014). As well as his award winning films, Smith is also a celebrated writer for both the DC and Marvel Comics empires, penning comics on legendary characters including Batman and Daredevil.
The show will contain two separate acts showing off some of Smith’s many talents. The first act will see Smith accompanied by his co-star Jason Mewes doing what they love best: telling stories and making fun of each other. Whilst the second act is a Q&A session with Smith.
An Evening With Kevin Smith is a chance for fans to get up close and personal with one of the most distinctive voices in US independent filmmaking and comedy. Don’t miss out on what is set to be a night filled with laughter.
Two shows will take place on Saturday 19 September at The Tivoli. For more information, check out our Event Guide listings.
