Blues and roots superstar Ash Grunwald has been added to the Blues On Broadbeach lineup.

Fresh from a big weekend at Byron Bay Bluesfest, Grunwald has been announced as the Broadbeach festival’s headliner.

Grunwald has spent much of the past year on the road (both in Australia and overseas) since the release of his Gargantua LP, and has teased a slew of new material for his Blues On Broadbeach set.

“It’s the first time I’m doing a lot of new stuff and I’m going to do more, too,” he told Blank Gold Coast. “I could do a whole set of the new stuff… sometimes they go better than the old stuff.”

Grunwald joins a killer lineup in Broadbeach, including the previously announced Black Sorrows, Andrew Strong (playing the music of The Commitments), James Morrison (playing an all-blues set), Jeff Lang (of The Tea Party fame), US greats Charlie Parr and Old Gray Mule, guaranteed party starters Tijuana Cartel, and dozens more.

Blues On Broadbeach will be held across a variety of stages from May 21-24. For more information, visit our event guide or head to for the full program.
