The National Institute of Dramatic Art is coming to Brisbane to train the next crop of rising stars in a summer school program.

The holidays have never looked brighter with the National Institute of Dramatic Art kicking-off its popular summer holiday performing arts program in Brisbane this month.

With a myriad of classes available to everyone, kids and adults, this is the perfect time to branch out and unleash your creative side.

Head of NIDA Open, Caroline Spence says the summer school holiday program is always a lot of fun and a great way for kids and adults, alike, to be inspired.

“Whether you are looking for intensive training to build your acting skills, or you want to try something new, NIDA has a class to suit you,” Caroline says. “Our courses not only provide great training for the performing arts industry and a fun way to explore your imagination, they also help to develop skills such as communication, leadership and collaboration.

“Along with new-found creativity, these are qualities our students will have for life.”

Throughout all courses, NIDA’s expert tutors will be on hand, sharing their experiences of theatre, TV, film and directing.

Some of the great classes on offer these summer holidays include Snow Queen and The Emperor: Music Theatre.

Participants can work with NIDA singing, dance and acting tutors to develop a short music theatre performance of classic Hans Christian Anderson-inspired musicals including The Little Mermaid and Frozen. There is also an end of course performance.

The Drama School program is a great course for young people to develop their performance skills including improvisation, voice, movement, acting and rehearsal techniques.

Musical Theatre Boot Camp Work with a NIDA music theatre expert to create a short song and story presentation for stage! This is a great introduction to the magic of music theatre and what it takes to become a music theatre star.

The summer program will run until 18 January and prices start from $310 per class
