Heading up or down the coast this Christmas? Join in the season’s festivities at Gold and Sunshine Coast carols.
Add a little salt air and sea breeze to your Christmas celebrations - while your holiday rental might not have a Christmas tree or fairy lights, you can still get into the spirit of the season by attending one of the many carols nights being hosted across both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
We’ve compiled a list of some of the biggest events on the Gold Coast and from several different regions of the Sunshine Coast so you can find one nearby.
With face painting, food stalls and visits from Santa, these events are sure to delight the whole family!
Gold Coast carols
On Saturday 13 December Kurrawa Park at Broadbeach will be filled with festive spirit for the Broadbeach Christmas Carols spectacular! With a headlining performance from Carols icon Marina Prior, a special appearance by Santa and his elves, a spectacular fireworks display, craft activities, circus activities and animals from Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, there’s something for everyone.
Head down to Surfers Paradise beach on Sunday 21 December for the Gold Coast’s biggest Christmas carols event. The entertainment starts from 6.30pm and is hosted by children’s entertainer Jay Laga’aia.
Broadwater Parklands will come alive with the sound of Christmas on Saturday 13 December, with all your favourite carols being sung by an impressive range of talented performers including The Voice 2013 runner-up Luke Kennedy.
Sing along to your favourite carols with the Southland Band and guest performers at the Pacific Pines Christmas in the Park on Saturday 13 December from 5pm.
Head down to Palm Beach Parklands on Monday 15 December for music from Old Man Friday and the Jazz Band. Kids can enjoy face painting and a barnyard animal enclosure. Food and drink is available for purchase and the night will end with fireworks.
Sunshine Coast carols
Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the festive celebration on Saturday 20 December at Kings Beach in Caloundra for the Calvary Christian Church Carols on Kings Beach. Live entertainment starts at 4.30pm and the Christmas Show starts at 6.30pm.
Enjoy a wonderful Christmas celebration on Saturday 13 December from 5pm at the Beerwah Sports Ground for the Glasshouse Country Community Carols. Bring a rug or chair and your best singing voice and revel in the festive spirit – kids will love the jumping castle, nativity scene and Australia Zoo Croc Van as well as the spectacular fireworks finale at 8pm.
Bring family and friends down to Tickle Park on Saturday 13 December for Coolum Christian Family Church’s Christmas in the Park celebration! Carols from 7pm, fireworks at 8.30pm, and freebies for kids – and there will also be a visit from the man of the moment, Santa!
Come along on Sunday 21 December for a night of singing and family fun in Lions Park on the Noosa River for the Noosa Carols on the River!
Head along to the Maleny RSL on Friday 19 December from 7pm for some well-known carols – as well as some you may not have heard before – performed by the Melany Singers, who will be accompanied by the Nambour Salvation Army Band.
