He’s been hailed as one of the best stand up comedians of his generation, a star of stage and screen, a tireless supporter of charity, a political campaigner and fashion icon.

Eddie Izzard is all of these things and more, a man who breaks all the rules in comedy and the good news is he’s coming to Brisbane.

Izzard will bring his massive Force Majeure world tour to Australia in January 2015 and tickets will go on sale at 10am on Tuesday 28 October.

Launched in March 2013, once completed this tour will have taken Izzard to more than 25 countries on five continents. From Cardiff to Kathmandu and Moscow to Mumbai, Force Majeure has travelled across Europe, Africa, Russia, the UK, Canada, America, India, Nepal, Far East and now Australia.

One of the most acclaimed comedians of his generation, Izzard’s unique, tangential, absurd and surreal comic narratives are lauded for their creativity and wit, earning him a New York Drama Desk Award and two Emmys for Dress to Kill, two British Comedy Awards for Top Stand Up Comedian, and an Olivier Award Nomination for Outstanding Achievement.

In America, Izzard became the first solo stand up comedian to perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl; he has sold out three consecutive nights at Radio City Music Hall and toured arenas throughout the US including a sold out show at Madison Square Garden.

On television, Izzard most recently guest starred in the series, Hannibal. He also starred in and served as a producer on the critically acclaimed FX Network show The Riches, opposite Minnie Driver, guest starred in the final season of United States of Tara, appeared as Long John Silver in Sky Televisions critically acclaimed drama Treasure Island and starred in the BBC drama Castles In The Sky.
